After having won (and paid for) quite a few awards in the early years of FL@33 we decided in 2004 not to enter any of our projects anymore. Award schemes are usually simply too time-consuming and expensive for small studios. We find it quite frankly much more rewarding to be invited to give talks and focus on new commissioned and self-initiated projects instead

FL@33's MICA residency lecture | workshop
Just confirmed: Tomi Vollauschek FL@33 residency, March 9th—14th, 2013. FL@33's Tomi Vollauschek is looking forward to be designer in residence in the
MFA in Illustration Practice program (MFA ILP) at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, MD, USA. He will give a lecture based on FL@33's book Made & Sold and run a 3-day workshop inspired by FL@33's The 3D Type Book. The public lecture at MICA will be in exactly 9 months from now – March 13th at 7pm, with booksigning to follow. More info to follow.

The 3D Type Book
is the third book FL@33 conceived, compiled, wrote and designed. The book is the most comprehensive showcase of three-dimensional letterforms ever written, featuring over 1,300 images of more than 300 projects by more than 160 emerging talents and established individuals and studios. The 3D Type Book was published by Laurence King, London, and released worldwide in April 2011.

Selected A – Graphic Design from Europe | conference
FL@33 was invited by Spanish publishing house Index Book to come to Barcelona to give a 1h-talk in front of hundreds of visitors to at their new Selected conference.

Made & Sold: Toys, T-shirts, Prints, Zines and Other Stuff
is the second book FL@33 conceived, compiled, wrote and designed. It features a wide range of hand-picked products created by graphic designer, illustrators and artists from around the world. The book was published by Laurence King, London, and released worldwide in October 2009.

Postcard

is the first book conceived, compiled, written and designed by FL@33. It showcases an eclectic mix of postcards created by graphic designer, illustrators and artists from around the world. The original English edition was translated into French, German and Spanish. The English edition of Postcard was released in September 2008 by Laurence King Publishing. Foreign language editions include a French edition by Pyramyd Editions entitled 'Cartes Postales', a Spanish edition by Gustavo Gili entitled 'Postales – Diseño por correo' and a German edition who kept the original 'Postcard' title (but added the subtitle 'Postkarten-Design heute') by DuMont – Literatur und Kunstverlag.

FL@33 monograph |  design & designer 033 – FL@33

Paris-based Pyramyd Editions commissioned us to compile a FL@33 monograph. The book has 120 pages, is
bi-lingual [English and French] and features a preface by Liz Brown. It was published in May 2005 and includes our early commissioned works and previously unpublished self-initiated projects.

GraficEurope conference in Berlin.

Design-a-Qee expo UK 2004
Our design of  2" Kit Cat Qee Mr Papillon was one of 20 winners from just over a thousand design competition entries. FL@33's Mr Papillon toy was made available worldwide in 2005 in as part of the Toy2r Design-a-Qee UK Series a limited edition of only 500.
