We finally managed to make a bit of time available for ourselves to start thinking about our overdue website redesign for flat33.com's v3. All we know at this stage is that it's going to be great. Easier to update, our complete archive, all with much larger images of course. It's finally going to be iPhone/iPad friendly, with larger type etc etc. The current version 2—even with all it's little tweaks over the years—was designed at a time when 15"/800 x 600px screen resolution was still the norm and 17" resolution was pushing it. Our comprehensive v2 has served us truly well for over 8 years but we can honestly not wait for the new website to be launched sometime in the new year... 8) Here a little snapshot of work in progress—tagging and categorising over 10 years worth of projects... Oh—how we would have loved to be able to launch v3 exactly 10 years after flat33.com v1—our very first studio site (you can still 'create the pop-up sculpture' there)... 8)

Germany's ZDF TV channel broadcasted a short piece in their Morgenmagazin (breakfast show) earlier this week and again during a lunchtime bulletin yesterday—reporting on this year's RCA Secret postcard event. It's an 80 seconds piece (archived using flash) and at approx. 1min you can actually see one of Tomi's postcard contributions briefly (sky with yellow circle—card #902—next to Grayson Perry's card). A slightly longer edit of this piece can be seen here (35:15–37:50). There were over 2,900 postcards in this exhibition—what are the chances...? 8)

This year's secrets were revealed at London's Royal College of Art a few days ago—including our FL@33 contributions to the 18th RCA Secret fundraising postcard sale. We contributed two sets of three postcards—Agathe's cards and Tomi's cards. You can find last years's FL@33 postcard contribution here and also all other previous ones in our flat33.com work archive.

German Page magazine featured the latest collaboration between our sister-company Stereohype and Habitat today. Habitat goes Button – Triumph des Button: FL@33 für Habitat.

October 13th, 2011
In the last weeks we gradually updated our flat33.com archive and posted a few projects we were only recently able to reveal. We also added some of the recent press and exhibitions etc. Recent projects include a deal with Habitat UK (now part of Home Retail Group) and Habitat's European arm – almost a year in the making – product development of five themed button badge sets compiled and produced under our Stereohype label. Our sets will hit Habitat UK's three flagship stores in London and stores across France, Germany and Spain very soon (if they aren't there already). If you see them in the stores – please do send us snapshots and you'll earn a free reward badge of your choice. Thanks! 8)
What else did we post? FL@33's ongoing design initiative B.I.O. (by invitation only) button badge series went into its 10th round and does – as always – also include a FL@33 contribution.
Promo cards for independent publisher Penrhyn Books have now rounded up the complete package so far we created for this client – with everything from logo, stationery etc and website to the book series designs that were finalised earlier this year.
We also posted new screenshots of the recently revamped bzzzpeek.com – FL@33's popular self-initiated sound project that was first launched in 2002. Bzzzpeek is currently on display in New York's Museum of Modern Art – MoMA – were visitors have a chance to enjoy the Talk to Me exhibition until November 7th. More pictures of the Talk to Me show will be posted soon. In the meantime we also recommend the intriguing exhibition catalogue.
More recent FL@33 press now added to our archive includes a Dutch newspaper article in De Volkskrant and reviews in IdN, Novum and Metropolis – all on FL@33's The 3D Type Book.

Three button badge-related news items were released earlier today. B.I.O. (by invitation only) button badge series 10 – an ongoing FL@33 design initiative – was launched today. So were this year's button badge design competition winners and runners-up. Last but not least we revealed a massive deal FL@33 and Stereohype have been preparing since November 2010. Habitat UK (now part of Home Retail Group) and Habitat's European arm have ordered record-breaking quantities of five themed button badge sets we developed under our Stereohype label. As with last year's already large test order – we have again selected and recommended badge designs from our growing collection designed by established and emerging talents from around the world. A collection that is now already including 630 designs. B.I.O. series 10 badges – including FL@33's latest badges – and competition winners are now available at stereohype.com. Our themed badge sets will hit Habitat UK's three flagship stores in London and stores across France, Germany and Spain in the next few weeks.
